A few pics from yesterday’s Hot Weather Ride

Marsworth Locks are the highest on the Grand Union Canal, where it passes around the north side of the Chiltern Hills. The Tring Reservoirs, about 200m to the south, are here to keep the canal topped up during the summer months. At the peak of the summer, hundreds of boats use the locks every day, and every time a lock is opened water flows down to the next lower level.

Oh, how nice it would have been to jump right in and escape the heat along side the geese

Everyone knows of the great victorian pile that is the Natural History Museum in Kensington, but few are aware of the Zoology Wing situated in the pretty little Hertfordshire town of Tring.
